But the reality of it is that it is never that easy. Just like their people, dogs nutritional needs change though out their lifetimes and occasionally outside factors influence what kind of food we feed our dogs.
Lets face it, here in America, we are seeing a shift to a more aware and healthy society. With the creation of the “Let’s move program” and “The Partnership for a Healthier America”, food manufacturers are looking more closely at ingredients. Everyone seems to be watching labels, and learning about nutrition is important for us to stay healthy and strong. It is just as important for us to know what is in our dogs food, and reading labels and being connected with what your dogs are eating is your responsibility as a dog owner.
We all grow as dog owners and sometimes we learn the hard way, or by trial and error, and just like us and our 2 legged children, our dogs can occasionally react to some of the foods we feed them with allergies or sensitivities. Remember, because our 4 legged babies cannot tell us when they feel bad it is important for us to always keep a sharp eye out for changes in behavior, mood, condition and especially our dogs feces. Being in-tune with what comes out of your dog, tells you a lot about how your dogs body reacts to what is going in.
Variety is the Key to Life
I am fortunate to have a small pack of dogs. Feeding could be complicated, but instead it is an opportunity to condition, train, regulate and observe all my dogs. As far as different protein sources go, I stick with a couple, and because of the volume of dry kibble that I use, I am able to mix and switch easily and with out any ill effects. I know I would not want to eat the same thing every day for my whole life, no matter how good it is for me.
Still confused? Well, recently I was contacted by Reviews.com. They have created a completely awesome review article about the Best Dog Foods on the market and they focus specifically on quality Ingredients. With more than 2,000 different formulas of dry food to look at, their methodology is through and logical.
Besides quality of product and history of the manufacturer, some of the take away points covered include “things to watch out for”, and those “other ingredients”. They also touch on other types of food (besides Kibble), including some great thoughts on feeding raw.

I recently discovered this amazing interactive tug toy for my corgi Eddie. Eddie is a very active Cardigan Welsh Corgi that is constantly on the go and is always ready to retrieve a ball. Recently, Eddie pulled the sheath off of one of his toe nails and running and ball playing were not allowed.. and although he has been healing up nicely, his technique of sliding into the retrieve, often caused him pain and more limping.
I bought the Tether Tug Dog Toy for one of my other dogs that is more into rope toys, never thinking that the corgis would enjoy it so much, but after a little bit of interacting with him and the rope, he caught on quickly and now it is one of his favorite things to play with in the yard.
This Tether Tug toy is a great stress release for him as I have noticed when the dogs across the road are barking, instead of running to the fence to bark back, he runs to his “tugger” and starts pulling and shaking.. The amazing thing is that because of his stature, his front toes do not take any abuse, and his sensitive toe is just about all healed up, with the added benefit of keeping him fit (he is an agility dog) and strengthening his core at the same time.
I can’t stress enough how much this has helped Eddie maintain his happy outlook, all the while, keeping him from painfully banging his toe and causing any further injury.

INTRODUCTION: No matter what size dog you have, I would recommend you get the largest size you feel comfortable with. Mine is an XL and certainly a great choice for my corgis who are not XL.. Easy to install, using a large hammer, and, the pole lifts out for easy lawn maintenance.

This toy is great for any active, high energy dog or any dog that likes to play tug. Often times , both my corgis will pull at the same time, against each other and against the pole. Like most of us, I carry a lot of stress in my shoulders, felt like the weight of the world. Yes meds helped, massage helped, but it never went away, it was a constant debilitating pain.. I am an active person. I have a small farm where I train horses and dogs and teach riders and handlers and with the help of my family, We do all of our own farm maintenance and gardening. If I am down and out due to pain of any sort, the well oiled machine of getting the things done that need to be done comes grinding to a painful stop. Basically, I do not have time for pain.
I have watched the evolution of Low light laser therapy since the late 1970’s. All the Laser units from Multi Radiance Medical are amazing medical grade devices, and they all use the same wavelengths with the same delivery. Some of the more Professional units have more options of combinations of the wavelengths, they have more power which allows them to have a shorter treatment time ( 2 minutes compared to 5), and have a blue laser which works on wounds to kill bacteria. They are also a bit more pricey…
Because these units are sold to such a diverse market (chiropractors, dentists, veterinarians, physical therapists, etc), MRM marketing department has created different color sleeves for different markets. This Blue “My Pet Laser” is the same unit as the new “Pain Away” (has a red cover) you can find on the website. This is where the ranking lost a point in my book.. more complicated than it needs to be.. These lasers are just recently being sold to the general public for at home and personal use and it seems they really haven’t given names much thought

Most of these products do no harm, but do not deliver the needed light energy to treat tissues beyond a few centimeters.

There is little or no sensation during low light laser treatment. Some report feeling a mild, soothing warmth or tingling.
Are there any side effects or associated risks?
